WHO WE ARE

An ordinary church, doing ordinary things, by God's ordinary means.

Sterling Presbyterian Church is a congregation of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, gathered each Lord's Day around the preaching of the Word, the sacraments, and prayer. We are unashamedly Reformed and confessional, and at the same time a family — ordinary people learning together what it means to follow Christ.

You don't need to dress a certain way or know all the answers to join us. Come as you are, hear the gospel preached, and see what worship rooted in Scripture looks like.

PLANNING A VISIT

What to expect on Sunday

If you've never been to a Reformed worship service, here's what your first morning with us looks like.

01 —When & Where

Sundays, 10:45am

We gather at cascades Overlook Event Center, 21453 Epicerie Plaza, Sterling, VA 20164. Sunday school precedes worship — come early and say hello.

02 —The Service

Word & Sacrament

Expect congregational singing, Scripture read and prayed, and a sermon that works carefully through a book of the Bible. Reverent, unhurried, and centered on Christ.

03 —Your Family

Children Welcome

Little ones are a joyful part of our congregation. You're encouraged to keep them with you in worship — we love the sound of covenant children.

CURRENT TEACHINGS

What we're studying now

ROMANS (2).png

An expository walk through Paul's letter to the church in Rome — the deepest articulation of the gospel of grace in all of Scripture.

PILGRIM’S PROGRESS (1).png

Working through Bunyan's beloved allegory of the Christian life — a portrait of the believer's journey from the City of Destruction to the Celestial City.

LIFE TOGETHER

Ministries

Discipleship happens in the gathered church and around the table in homes throughout the week.

Men's Discipleship

Men of the church meet to study Scripture, pray, and sharpen one another in the faith — building friendships that bear weight.

Titus Two Women

Older and younger women learning together what it means to love their families and walk in godliness, after the pattern of Titus 2.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Confessional & Reformed

We hold to the Westminster Standards — the Confession of Faith and the Larger and Shorter Catechisms — as a faithful summary of the teaching of Scripture, and we are a member congregation of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church.
